Lamia: The Mother Who Became a Monster

In Greek mythology, Lamia began as a beautiful queen, or in some versions a Libyan princess, who became one of mythology's most tragic monsters. Ancient stories tell that she caught the eye of Zeus, earning the fury of his wife, Hera. Consumed by jealousy, Hera destroyed Lamia's children and cursed the grieving mother, transforming her into a terrifying creature forever haunted by her loss.
