☀️ Litha: The Summer Solstice Celebration of Light, Power & Sun Magic
What is Litha?
Litha (pronounced LITH-uh) is celebrated on or around June 21st - the longest day and shortest night of the entire year. This sun-drenched sabbat is all about abundance, growth, radiant joy, and solar energy at its PEAK. If Beltane was the party, Litha is the afterglow where everything you've been manifesting is now bursting into full bloom.
In ancient Celtic, Norse, and Germanic traditions, Litha was the time to honor the Sun God at the height of his strength before his slow descent into the darker half of the year. Bonfires burned from dusk till dawn, herbs were harvested at their peak potency, and celebrations were loud, wild, and full of gratitude to the Earth Mother.
What It Represents 🌞
- Solar energy, fire, light
- Abundance and gratitude
- Growth, success, and vitality
- Honoring divine masculine energy
- Protecting your home, harvest, and heart
Vibes for Litha ☀️🌿
This is that full-throttle, high-vibe mama glow energy. 🌻 You’ve planted seeds all spring - now it’s time to soak in the sunlight and honor your progress. Whether your “harvest” is emotional growth, family milestones, or personal magic, celebrate it.
This is also a powerful time to protect your energy, recharge your boundaries, and fuel yourself with sacred self-care (lemon balm tea and watermelon count, btw).
☀️ Litha Celebrations & Rituals
🔥 Sunrise Gratitude Ceremony – Wake up early, catch the sunrise, and journal what you’re grateful for - then set intentions for the second half of the year. Bonus: do it barefoot in the grass for extra grounding magic!
🌻 Solar Infusions – Place herbs (like chamomile or calendula) and a crystal (sunstone, citrine, or clear quartz) in water and let it charge in sunlight. Use it as a refreshing face splash or altar blessing water.
🧒 Mini Sun Crowns – Craft sunny flower crowns or sunburst wands with your littles using yellow and orange paper, ribbon, and flowers.
💫 Protective Herbal Bundles – Make little bundles of rosemary, lavender, sage, or thyme to hang in doorways or tuck into pillows for protection and peace.
🍓 Bless Your Harvest – Whether it’s a strawberry patch, your tiny herb garden, or a big win in your biz or healing journey - name it, honor it, bless it.
